Something to BelieveThere are many, long established, major world religions, each with over three million followers. | NOTE: I do not favor, privilege or endorse any one religion over another. I did not include some of the common texts, because they are available almost everywhere. Listed are only rare and controversial volumes that may be of interest to my Visitors. The Dead Sea Scrolls |
|
$ 4.95 USDThe texts are of great religious and historical significance, as they include some of the only known surviving copies of Biblical documents made before 100 BCE and preserve evidence of late Second Temple Judaism. They are written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, mostly on parchment, but with some written on papyrus. These manuscripts generally date between 150 BCE to 70 CE. Many of the scrolls are now housed in the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem, while others are housed in the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute, Princeton Theological Seminary, Azusa Pacific University, and in the hands of private collectors. This one-volume translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls is one of the latest editions of The Dead Sea Scrolls in English, first published in 1962. The introduction, including maps and photos, briefly summarizes history of scrolls. Though dubbed "complete", we may never completely translate the entire writings, that is if we ever even find them all. ID # EB21-019 Format: PDF Delivery: Email Attachment Pages: 152 Price: $4.95 |
